Antonio Brown is willing to play for free if he were to rejoin the Pittsburgh Steelers, but there is one requirement.
The All-Pro wide receiver determined that a return to the Steelers could work if they gave him No. 86 after discussing it with his family, and he shared his decision on social media. Brown was displeased that Pittsburgh signed free agent Cordarrelle Patterson with No. 84.
Brown penned:
“Since Jersey # don’t matter much should not be a big deal,”
@CtespnN BREAKING NEWS
After thinking it over talking it over with family
I’ll come back and play for Steelers for FREE this season if I can get #86
Since Jersey # don’t matter much should not be a big deal

Would Antonio Brown make a comeback ?
Brown last participated in an NFL game in 2021 before leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the middle of the game. He was benched in the season’s final game and was traded to the Oakland Raiders once the offseason got underway. He last played for the Steelers in 2018.
With 11,207 yards and 74 touchdowns at the end of his Pittsburgh career, he was selected for four All-Pro teams and seven Pro Bowls. In addition, he twice had the most receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in the league.
If given the chance and Hines Ward’s old number, Brown would undoubtedly return to Pittsburgh, but there’s not much likelihood the Steelers will sign him.
