There are murmurs of dissatisfaction, but the Dallas Cowboys wouldn’t be as strong without edge rusher Micah Parsons. Would they have the guts to let him go? Super Bowls are won by some teams. Some secure championships in the offseason. The Dallas Cowboys reign supreme when it comes to undervaluing talent.
Dallas has a tendency for identifying exceptional talent and cutting the bait early, whether it’s playing hardball with quarterback Dak Prescott or allowing Jimmy Johnson to depart the building out of selfish motives.
Superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons could be the next romance on its list to go sour.
Shan Shariff speaks about Micah Parsons
Shan Shariff talked about rumors circulating about The Star and how staff members could feel about the team’s star player on 105.3 The Fan. He said,
“I’ve heard from way too many people this offseason,” .“I’m talking about at least four different people (have said) that Micah has worn thin there. I don’t know how much is true and how much it actually hurts (Parsons’ reputation). I don’t know whether this is the behavior of a typical superstar. I don’t (know) how damaging it is.
“But all I do know is this – I’ve heard from way too many people that if Micah Parsons was out of there, there would be a decent amount of people inside the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco smiling or breathing a sigh of relief.”
Even while it’s not conclusive proof that Parsons is leaving or attempting to prove that point, it’s nonetheless worrying. Parsons will always be watched closely because he is the most visible player on the most divisive and well-liked team in the nation. He is also the best player. It’s another matter entirely whether that is justified.
It’s probable that he’s taken actions behind the scenes to irritate people or that this is a clumsy bargaining ploy. It still seems absurd, though, to think that Parsons won’t agree to a record-breaking contract extension with America’s Team.
