Things are getting messy between 50 Cent and his baby mama, Daphne Joy! The rapper is not holding back as he recently filed a defamation lawsuit against her over some serious accusations. He’s demanding a hefty $1 million in damages, claiming that she falsely accused him of rape and abuse.
This drama is heating up and doesn’t seem to end anytime soon.
Filed Monday in a Harris County, Texas, court, the lawsuit comes over a month after Narvaez made the allegations, following the rapper’s comments on her being named in a civil lawsuit by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr. against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In a March Instagram post, Joy addressed 50 Cent by his birth name, Curtis James Jackson, and criticized the “Candy Shop” emcee for “wreaking real havoc, frenzy, and chaos onto people’s lives” after he seemingly made light of Jones’ allegation about Joy being among the women “who were paid a monthly fee to work” as Diddy’s “sex workers.” She also blasted her ex-boyfriend for his alleged sexual abuse of her, as well as his lack of involvement in their son’s life (they share a son, Sire).
“Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me,” Joy wrote at the time. “You have permanently damaged the last hope I had for you as a father to preserve our family with these last and final false claims made against me.”
Now, Jackson is hitting back, claiming Narvaez “retaliated” against him for seeking sole custody of their child by “immediately taking to the Internet and publishing multiple defamatory statements on her public Instagram account.”
In an emailed statement to USA TODAY on Wednesday, Jackson’s lawyer, Reena Jain, said Narvaez has been given “ample opportunity to retract a false and malicious retaliatory accusation.”
“Ms. Narvaez has shamefully chosen to interfere with her 11-year-old son’s relationship with his loving father by falsely calling him a ‘rapist,'” said Jain. “The motivation behind this appears to be Ms. Narvaez’s unfortunate entanglement and misguided loyalty to Mr. Combs, who we believe to be underwriting this attack and whom Mr. Jackson has been warning Ms. Narvaez and others about for many years.”
The lawsuit notes that Jackson “has been subjected to extensive public ridicule, hatred, and contempt, with members of the public calling for Jackson to be ‘cancel(ed)’ or ‘throw(n)… in the trash,’ and going so far as to praise prior attempts on his life.”
Jackson is seeking monetary damages and the removal of Narvaez’s post.
So, 50 Cent is not backing down from these serious accusations. Taking legal action against Daphne Joy shows he is not afraid to stand up for himself. It will be interesting to see how this case unfolds.
