After Supporting Naz Reid, Paige Bueckers Defends Herself Against Trolls

Like celebrities, professional athletes live under continual scrutiny; practically every move they make is watched, including what they do on social media. While the most of the time, this kind of unceasing attention is caused by fans who are reading more content about the athlete in question, there are always a few people who want to find fault with everything they do. But on an uncommon day like this one, Paige Bueckers, a star player for Connecticut, she exclaimed, “Not Today,” when she woke up.

Paige Bueckers, a collegiate player who is still active, nearly fell victim to online trolling when she mentioned Minnesota Timberwolves forward Naz Reid on her official X (Twitter) account.

Fans on X hardly spent any time in criticizing Paige Bueckers because they felt she had little interest in women’s basketball, despite the fact that there was little to no information about her childhood, history, or preferences.

To post such a ridiculous and outlandish assertion online—that too, out of the blue—would do wonders to provoke mild outbursts of wrath in nearly everyone. The 22-year-old did, however, succeed in choose the high road.

“Oh so f**k women’s basketball?” the fan tweeted.

In response, Bueckers grabbed her iPad while she was watching the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets play Game 2 on TV. Paige’s answer was succinct, sufficient, and productive.

The fact that Paige Bueckers selected the Indiana Fever vs. Los Angeles Sparks game may have gone unnoticed by many fans, but both clubs are captained by highly anticipated newcomers, Cameron Brink and Caitlin Clark.

The six-foot guard Paige Bueckers was raised in Edina, Minnesota, where she was born. She continued on to Hopkins, Minnesota, to attend Hopkins High School. Paige was a fan of the Timberwolves growing up, which explains why she shouted out to Naz Reid.
