Charles Barkley Mocks “Inside the NBA’s” Demise

A really humorous comment was recently made by Charles Barkley regarding the possible cancellation of TNT’s “Inside the NBA.” NBC is anticipated to take over the time slot prior to the upcoming season, as the television company’s NBA media rights agreement is about to expire. After Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference Finals, Barkley decided to make a joke about TNT’s downfall in an attempt to give the audience one more giggle.

The NBA Insider runs a feature titled “Gone Fishing” each year. As the name implies, the panel bids the teams that were ousted from the playoffs a funny farewell.

This season, the well-known part was omitted from the postseason’s second round for unspecified reasons.

But tonight, when the show aired, the TNT crew simultaneously made fun of every team that was eliminated. While Ernie Johnson Jr. was apologizing to the audience for the Gone Fishing delay, Barkley made the amusing allegation that they were preoccupied looking for new employment. He said,

“We’ve been busy… Filling out job applications,”

Most likely, Charles Barkley is joking when he talks about completing job applications. To the dismay of the NBA community as a whole, “Inside the NBA” may, in fact, be coming to an end. Barkley may be putting up a cheerful front, but he is also really concerned about it.
