Following an MVP-caliber season, Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys is ranked #1 among all NFC quarterbacks by PFF. Prescott outperformed the other nine quarterbacks, presumably based on their individual performances from the previous season and awarding them points in accordance with their desired method. However, social media users condemned Prescott quite swiftly.
The same complaints made by fans were brought up: the Cowboys’ inability to perform up to par, their failure to win when it mattered, and the presence of superior quality elsewhere.
Matthew Stafford of the LA Rams and Jalen Hurts of the Eagles trailed behind Prescott. It also seems unfair to many fans that a quarterback who hasn’t excelled at the top level is starting before two who have. What fans thought was as follows:
If we are playing fantasy football, sure, Dak can be 1.
If you want to win or legitimately compete for a championship, I’m not sure he’s even top 5.

Jordan Love and Brock Purdy got a lot of praise for finishing in the top 5. Furthermore, some think that the young quarterbacks currently have the advantage because they have greater potential and a higher ceiling than Prescott:
Purdy has beaten everyone in front of him, none of them have beat him.

I would take Purdy or Love over Dak.

Wait what? You can argue 2-5 are better than Dak. Stafford has a ring, Hurts and Purdy have made it to the Super Bowl. Love smacked the boys in Jerrys World last season.

Can Dak Prescott bring fans joy this time?
Winning it all still comes down to this. No matter how successful Prescott is on his own, this fan base still wants a Lombardi. Although they aren’t on lists of teams with the longest losing streaks yet, they will eventually be on lists that are dominated by the Jets, Jaguars, and occasionally the Bengals.
The team will eventually fall from grace given the way things are going for them. The team unravels in the postseason like yarn the instant it shows signs of turning things around during the regular season.
And a large portion of the blame rests with Prescott. He operates in what appears to be an inherently dysfunctional system, even if he isn’t the primary issue in Dallas—far from it. As such, his efforts are often in futile. Furthermore, his stats are thought to be inflated and trash time. The MVP-caliber season is disregarded, the 12 victories are covered up, and all that the spectators can see are his ringless fingers. The fact that his squad doesn’t have much faith in him doesn’t help either.
