During Netflix’s “The Greatest Roast of All Time,” Tom Brady and Drew Bledsoe went at it, leaving viewers to question whether there was genuine hostility between the two. But when Brady recently made an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show, he answered any questions from the audience.
Eisen and Brady discussed how rookie quarterback culture has changed since Brady’s NFL debut on the show. They discussed how quarterbacks nowadays are expected to play in college, making them into mini-celebrities when they enter the league.
Tom Brady credits Drew Bledsoe for mentoring him
Brady’s quarterbacks, on the other hand, were more adaptable because they had more experience under their belts and had learned from veteran QBs as well as their coaches. Brady even gave Bledsoe credit for this while discussing it, adding,
“I could not have been the player I was without people like that impacting my career. My first year I had Drew Bledsoe to look up to. He took all the raps. I got to sit there from behind and watch him every single day. I had a real mentor to look up to in Drew.”
This demonstrates that Brady and Bledsoe are not at all bitter toward one another and were just according to the roast’s rules. In fact, Bledsoe and Julian Edelman, another former teammate, talked about their experiences at the roast.
