Miami Dolphins Use One Stat to Support Their $60 Million Payment to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle

The Dolphins‘ receiver room is undoubtedly the best in the NFL. That is undoubtedly demonstrated by their yearly payout to their recipients. Tyreek Hill receives $30 million annually, but Jaylen Waddle recently signed a $28.5 million contract. But a lot of people believe that the $60 million that was spent on the two receivers was well worth it, particularly when we consider one important figure.

Warren Sharp of the Ringer shared a statistic of wide receiver completions over ten yards downfield for the 2023 season on X, formerly Twitter. With 104 completions, Dolphins receivers Hill and Waddle lead the league by a wide margin.

The Minnesota Vikings, the second-best team on the list, are trailing with just 84 completions, a staggering 20-completion difference.

Interestingly, Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson are the Vikings’ main contributors to this success. Given that Jefferson missed half the season and the club lost their quarterback to injury, it’s even more remarkable.

Lamb and Jefferson are both expected to receive large salaries. The Dolphins spent a lot of money to maintain their receiving room, so CeeDee and Justin might cost more than $30 million combined.

But it appears Miami overlooked an upcoming extension, which will cost them much more, in their haste to shut down Waddle for an additional three years.
