Shareef O’Neal took up basketball, following in his father Shaquille O’Neal‘s footsteps, and finally even came very near to it. After participating in the NBA G-League during the 2022–2023 NBA season, the son of the legendary Los Angeles Lakers spoke with his followers on social media regarding his present objectives and responsibilities. He also made sure to inform his supporters that his basketball career is far from over.
In order to relaunch the $2.4 billion brand Reebok, Shareef O’Neal has been collaborating with his father, Shaquille O’Neal.
The 24-year-old took to Instagram to communicate with his followers, posting a note on his stories to clarify why there haven’t been any new postings since Shareef last contributed anything in 2019.
“Guys I’ve been working along side my father with rebranding Reebok brand.. and we will get it back to the top. I WILL BE HOOPING AGAIN, I know I’ve been missing and haven’t been posting what I’m doing but I did not stop! I will be back soon! Just want to help out my dad.”

Adidas paid $3.8 billion to acquire the business back in 2006, according to Reuters. Adidas intended to purchase Reebok with the intention of taking on the rapidly growing athletic products behemoth, Nike. Regrettably, the German company’s efforts were fruitless, as “The Swoosh” proceeded to assemble a larger roster of players from many leagues and sports in their quest to establish an unrivaled empire.
Shaquille O’Neal and his son’s involvement in Business
Adidas and Reebok parted ways back in 2021, with Adidas selling the latter to Authentic Brand Groups (ABG) for a reported 2.1 billion euros.
Thankfully, O’Neal and Co. have subsequently increased the brand’s value to $2.4 billion, demonstrating the productive work that the father-son team has accomplished.
Regarding the young man’s basketball career, Shareef O’Neal last participated in games for the Ignite of the NBA G-League during the 2022–2023 campaign. The four-time NBA champion’s son hasn’t been spotted on a basketball court since then, though.
Many speculated that he might have given up on his basketball career in light of this fact. But if the 24-year-old’s promise to his fans is any indication, he already appears to have something planned. But before all of that, he seems intent on assisting Allen Iverson and Shaquille O’Neal in bringing Reebok back into the spotlight.
