Son of NBA legend LeBron James, Bronny James, was not taken on the first day of the 2024 NBA Draft, which was a not too shocking development. Wednesday night’s announcement of the 30 first-round selections left Bronny’s NBA future in doubt as he prepared for Thursday’s draft festivities. His name was noticeably missing.
His withdrawal from the first round wasn’t totally shocking, as the 19-year-old was predicted to be a second-round selection the whole draft process.
On the other hand, there was a tangible buzz about his choice. Although Bronny had the chance to demonstrate his abilities to other teams, he only took part in two individual workouts with the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns this summer.
Bronny’s agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, was adamant that his client receive an NBA deal and made it known that they were not entertaining two-way offers. Paul said,
“This is nothing new,”. “The goal is to find a team that values your guy and try to push him to get there,”

Bronny James’s season wasn’t so good
Bronny’s one and only season at USC was lackluster; in 25 games, he averaged 4.8 points per game. His season was further complicated by a heart collapse he had in July during preseason practices, which further complicated his draft hopes.

On Day 1, LeBron James reflected on his son’s journey and shared his feelings on social media in the morning. He wrote on Instagram,
“Not a feeling in the f-n world better than being around raising my boys to MEN!,” “Pops over here getting emotional as hell just thinking about yall journey so far! Thank you both for allowing me to be your DAD and be a part of your compass through life’s trials and tribulations!”
