LeBron James has taken a public stance against a California automaker, accusing them of “lying” when it came to providing him with new wheels.
The Riverside Effortless Motors store posted a video on Wednesday showing a new Bugatti being driven into the back of a truck. The caption claimed that the Lakers star was the dealership’s “biggest VIP customer” and thanked him for “trusting” the company. When James finally discovered the post, he quickly called the whole thing on Instagram. LeBron said,
“Stop the [cap]!!” Â “LIARS!! I don’t know y’all and I don’t even have that car. CLOUT CHASERS.”
LeBron James’s fans blast the Car Company Post
Then, a tonne of James’s supporters went to the company’s Facebook page and deluged it with hateful remarks, echoing the four-time champion and criticizing it for profiting from his name.
The owner of Effortless Motors, Daniel Ubario, told TMZ Sports that the entire thing was a marketing gimmick and that he had no idea the post would go viral the way it did.
Furthermore, Ubario stated that he has never previously collaborated with LeBron in any way, much less on this specific car. He also said that he personally apologized to James for the situation, but he hasn’t heard back from him yet.
