Former NBA Player Rashad McCants Drops Prediction On Bronny James Ahead Of The NBA Draft Saying He’s Not Going To Play For The First 2 Years

Former NBA player Rashad McCants has stirred up some controversy with his recent bold prediction regarding Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James. McCants, who had a brief stint in the NBA playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, made a surprising statement that has many people talking.

According to McCants, he believes Bronny James will not play in the NBA during the first two years after being drafted. This prediction has raised some eyebrows, as Bronny James is widely considered to be a top prospect in his class and has shown immense potential on the basketball court.

After a challenging first season at the University of Southern California (USC), where he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, Bronny James is heading into the draft.

Questions have been raised regarding his NBA preparedness. Former NBA player Rashad McCants, who played for four seasons, remarked on Gil’s Arena: “[Bronny James] is not going play the first two years. It’s cool.”

He added, “I think that that’s what they’re expecting, that’s why they don’t want to do a two-way contract, cause they’re going to send him down there anyway,”

McCants asserted that the anticipation that Bronny James will play in the G-League is why Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul is reluctant to give him a two-way deal. Bronny’s draft prospects have increased since the Draft Combine, even if he had a lackluster collegiate season. He is presently ranked 55th in this year’s NBA Draft by ESPN.

Bronny showed off his impressive shooting abilities at the combine, going 19-for-25 in the 3-point star drill and making 78 percent of his second-best attempts in the side-mid-side 3-point drill.

Only time will tell whether McCants’ prediction will come true. Bronny James has shown tremendous potential and has a strong support system in place, with his father LeBron James guiding him along the way. Whether or not he sits out the first two years after being drafted, Bronny James is sure to make a splash in the NBA when he finally does take the court. Until then, fans and analysts alike will continue to speculate on his future and eagerly anticipate his inevitable debut in the league.
