Joe Burrow talks overcoming mental obstacles
From the moment he joined the NFL, Burrow has struggled with injuries. His 2023 season was cut short by surgery-related tears in his right wrist ligaments.
He had previously battled a calf ailment earlier in the season before this one. Burrow has also had an appendectomy, knee issues, and an ACL tear during his career. Burrow is still committed to coming back to the field stronger in spite of these obstacles.

While he has been passing at minicamp, his main goal is to fully heal rather than play right away. Instead of going back too soon, Burrow stressed the value of being prepared for the season’s beginning and sustaining health over the long term. Joe said,
“Whenever the injuries start to stack up, your football mortality kind of comes into the back of your mind,”Burrow said following a recent minicamp practice.
“So that’s definitely something I’ve thought about and something I have had to fight through.”
“That’s something we’re being more proactive about this year,”.
“We don’t have to be ready to go in the middle of June. We have to be ready to go early September through February. That’s how we’re attacking this offseason and this rehab plan and these practices and training camp. We’re attacking it like I want to be out there playing in February.”
