Where will Micah Parsons be next season? As some of its key players approach the end of their contracts, the Dallas Cowboys, like any club that considers itself a contender for a championship, must make some difficult decisions in order to pursue their first Super Bowl triumph since 1995.

The most urgent situation concerns quarterback Dak Prescott, who will be entering his final season of contract in 2024. Prescott led the NFL in touchdown passes in 2023. With free agency approaching, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb wants to change the landscape for his position, but the Cowboys haven’t given him a clear plan for the future either.
Another key player who will need to sign a new deal with Dallas is Micah Parsons, but he may be dismayed to hear that he will have to be a little more patient.
Ex teammate says Micah Parsons has to wait
Recently, former Dallas receiver Keyshawn Johnson and Cowboys safety Malik Hooker spoke on FOX Sports’ “All Facts No Breaks.” Before agreeing to two-time All-Pro Parsons’ contract, Hooker informed Johnson that, if he were owner Jerry Jones, he would much rather extend Lamb and Prescott.
In remarks that may enrage Parsons and Prescott alike, Hooker stated:
“I feel like CeeDee should be paid first for the simple fact of what he does for us, how valuable he is for us, the leader he is for us as a team,”

After the 2024 season, Lamb, who caught 12 touchdowns the previous year, might become a free agent. After Dallas (shrewdly) chose to exercise Parsons’ rookie contract’s fifth-year option, he will have to wait a bit longer because his contract expires after 2025, and Hooker’s remarks may just be an expression of that fact.
But in 2024, the elite edge rusher might use his teammate’s comments as gasoline on his fire. In each of his three NFL seasons, Parsons has placed second or third in the voting for Defensive Player of the Year; if he wins the title in year four, it will be impossible to overlook his contract status.
