Luka Dončić Will Not Play Against the 76ers

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the Lakers announced that Luka Dončić was out for the remainder of Thursday’s game against the 76ers because of left leg pain.

After finishing the first half with 10 points on 3-for-10 shooting, four rebounds, and two assists, he left the game early. After hobbling off the ground, Dončić stayed in the locker room until halftime and did not come back to begin the second half. In the third quarter of the game, he was formally declared out.

Angrily, Luka Doncic kicked the scorer’s table and lowered his head before heading to the locker room.

With 33.4 points per game, the Lakers’ standout guard leads the NBA in scoring. After a protracted absence due to a calf injury, Austin Reaves made his Lakers comeback on Tuesday. As of right now, it’s unknown if Dončić’s injury will keep him out of action at a crucial period for the Lakers, who are 30-19 and sixth in the Western Conference.

In a trade with the Hawks that sent Gabe Vincent and a future second-round pick to Atlanta, the Lakers acquired veteran shooter Luke Kennard as the NBA trade deadline came to an end on Sunday.

The Lakers have four games left before the NBA’s All-Star break next weekend, which could give Dončić a week off if he doesn’t play in the All-Star game. That includes Thursday’s game against Philadelphia.
