Austin Rivers and Stephen Jackson recently got into a heated argument after Jackson questioned Rivers’s relevance during a tirade, suggesting that tensions are high in the NBA community. Jackson was asked to address Rivers’ contentious views on NBA players moving to the NFL and vice versa during a recent episode of his show All The Smoke.
Jackson declined the subject, appearing to reject it right away. He told his presenter that he was not interested in talking about Rivers because the former NBA guard was now “irrelevant.”
Austin Rivers Blasts Stephen Jackson Over his Comments
When Rivers happened to read Jackson‘s remarks, he took the opportunity to respond to the hateful remarks the former Spur was making about him. The former Clippers guard responded to X by saying,
“This is so ironic considering he stays having my name in his mouth. (I have never met this guy, btw lol) The comments say it all. He’s at it again lmao!! Poor dude starving for attention. Sad sight tbh. I honestly wish him nothing but the best fr. Good God bro…grow up.”

When Rivers audaciously asserted a month ago that he could take thirty NBA players and make them successful in the NFL, but NFL players wouldn’t fare as well in the NBA, the whole situation took off. But when Jackson was asked to address Rivers’ remarks that were called into doubt on a recent episode of All The Smoke, he responded angrily,
“I just don’t want to be in no conversation with Austin Rivers’ name is involved. Why his name even involved. I don’t even want to answer a question with his name phrased in. Cause Austin Rivers is somebody not relevant nowhere.”
It’s unclear whether the two are genuinely hostile toward one another or if this is merely a case of created rivalry.
