Josina Anderson, an NFL insider, subsequently verified Drake’s retirement. She was informed by the running back that he is “at peace with the decision”. Drake said,
“Yes it is. It felt like the right time,”. “I love the game, but I don’t love the business. I’m at peace with the decision. I’m healthy and ready to start the next chapter of my life.”
Kenyan Drake’s career in NFL
Drake was a player for several teams, including the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, and Baltimore Ravens. Drake was chosen by the Dolphins in the third round of the 2016 draft as an Alabama player. Drake participated in the Miami Miracle, one of the most amazing plays in recent NFL history, while he was a member of Miami.
From 2016 until his trade to the Cardinals in 2019, he was a member of the Miami team. 2020 was the strongest season of his career, setting career highs with 955 running yards and 10 touchdowns in Arizona.

Drake never found much success after his breakthrough season with the Cardinals; in his final years in the NFL, he ran for less than 500 yards. He played with the Raiders for a single season before moving on to the Ravens in 2022. He then joined the Indianapolis Colts as a practice squad player to begin the 2023 campaign.
Before making his way back to Baltimore, he temporarily joined the practice squad of the Cleveland Browns. The Packers were where he concluded his NFL career.
