Even Kevin Durant knows when to accept defeat. In reaction to a shot of Anthony Edwards dunk on him on social media on Thursday, the future Hall of Famer posted, “I tried Jennifer.”

The quote is a reference to CJ McCollum’s well-known response from 2018 to a fan who advised him to “win a playoff game and then talk”:
Im trying Jennifer

The fact that Edwards dunked over Durant is noteworthy, to be sure. Ultimately, during the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ first-round playoff victory over the 35-year-old’s Phoenix Suns, the 22-year-old didn’t think twice to trash criticize the opposition.
Nevertheless, given that he is recovering from a calf injury, the two-time NBA Finals MVP is deserving of a pass on this one. It’s hard enough to stop Edwards when he’s healthy, so it’s okay to be dunked on like this at less than 100 percent.
But that surely won’t stop Edwards from having some fun and talking trash yet again as the two Team USA teammates prepare for Sunday’s Olympics opener against Serbia.
