Following reports that Chris Paul had signed a contract with the San Antonio Spurs, Dwight Howard posted something on X. Chris Paul has completed his rookie season with the Golden State Warriors. With $30 million remaining on his contract for the 2024–25 season, the Warriors waived Paul in order to avoid paying him.
According to Wojnarowski, Paul will now sign a contract with the San Antonio Spurs after becoming a free agent.

For years, Howard faced up against Paul. Although Paul is past his prime, he can still manage an offense, which will probably make Victor Wembanyama, the 2024 Rookie of the Year,’s task much simpler.
After spending one season with the Warriors, he averaged 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and shot 37.1% from three-point range and 44.1% from the field in 58 games.
The Spurs are coming off a season in which they finished 22-60 and were the 14th seed in the Western Conference due to their rebuilding efforts.
