The Chicago Bears made the decision to add talented wide receiver Rome Odunze as another weapon for their star quarterback. Many people thought Odunze would take off and become a star right away, but he doesn’t seem to be able to keep up with the major leagues’ speed, and he’s being haunted by an internet error from camp.
On social media, a video of Odunze failing to establish division during training camp went viral. Rome goes one-on-one with the CB after the Bears quarterback throws a pass down the right sideline in the video. The wideout was not able to latch onto the pass, despite his expected use of size to create space.
Fans react to Rome Odunze’s error
It didn’t take long for detractors to find a reason to attack the Bears player. While some supporters argued that he shouldn’t have caught the ball due to his purported inability to get open, others pointed out that he is no longer a college student.
But many others jumped to his defense, labeling the post clickbait and pointing out that he was against Jaylen Johnson, the top corner in the league. Here were some of the reactions.
It’s Not College Anymore – LOL!

Rome simply can’t get open. Can’t sharpen iron if it’s defective

That is one the best corners in the league, nice engagement bait

Left arm is hooked and he has to slow down and comeback to the ball.

Every player joining the NFL has a high learning curve; it’s a vastly different game from college football. Because of how quickly the game moves, there must be a considerable transition period, which is why OTAs and training camps are crucial.
Fans may have had some reservations about Odunze’s skills, but his new teammates are wholeheartedly supporting him.
