Victor Wembanyama’s Photo From the Paris Olympics Goes Viral

At the 2024 Olympics, Victor Wembanyama is creating waves, much like he did in his incredible rookie NBA season. The 7-foot-4 French center, who is a formidable player on the international scene, was instrumental in Team France’s most recent 94-90 overtime triumph over Japan.

The striking difference in height between Wembanyama and Japan’s 5-foot-6 guard Yuki Togashi was one of the game’s most memorable moments. This unusual contest became well-known online very soon and went viral.

Victor Wembanyama Has Been Crucial For France

Wembanyama is competing in his own country for the first time at the Olympics, while he has been a vital member of the French team in prior international tournaments.

Wembanyama demonstrated his supremacy on the court by leading his side in the game with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in 31 minutes. Togashi, on the other hand, had a difficult time and finished the game with just three points on one of six shots in about twelve minutes.

Wembanyama had an incredible rookie NBA season, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3.6 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game. His impressive Olympic performance adds on that accomplishment. He came very close to winning Defensive Player of the Year and was named Rookie of the Year for his efforts.

With a 2-0 record, Team France is still unbeaten in Group B thanks to the support of seasoned NBA players like Frank Ntilikina, Nicolas Batum, Evan Fournier, and Rudy Gobert.
