After two years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on Tuesday. TMZ, the first outlet to break the story, claims that Lopez filed without legal representation.
In addition, Tuesday is the second anniversary of the couple’s opulent Georgia wedding, which took place two years after they eloped in Las Vegas in July 2022. The singer stated that they were divorcing on April 26, 2024.

Although sources told the magazine that Lopez and the actor do not have a prenuptial agreement, Lopez did not include it in her file.
She continued by waiving spousal support and requesting that the judge refuse Affleck’s request as well. Rumors of a breakup first surfaced in May 2024 when it was reported that Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, had been attending couples therapy.
The “Air” actor was seen without his wedding ring a week later, clearly indicating there was trouble in paradise, even though neither Lopez nor Affleck acknowledged the rumors. Affleck reportedly moved out of their enormous Beverly Hills property, according to TMZ.
The Oscar winner was reportedly observed spending approximately a week at a home in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles, even though it was just about thirty minutes away from their Beverly Hills residence.
