The NBA’s popular show Inside the NBA appears to be coming to an end after the league decided not to renews its agreement with TNT for the 2024–25 season. In an unexpected turn of events, Charles Barkley disclosed that the network is devising strategies to continue airing it. The Hall of Famer had to make a significant sacrifice, which he believes is in the nine figures, but he is thrilled about it.
The legendary Suns player said during a guest appearance on the Dan Le Batard Show that he declined rich offers from other networks in order to remain with TNT.
He clarified that he wanted to make sure that everyone who worked on Inside the NBA remained employed because his departure would have resulted in a huge layoff at the network. Barkley stated:
“The number one thing for me is my people at Turner get to keep their jobs for at least another year. That’s all I was concerned with.”
He stated, “A minimum of $100 million,” in response to a question about the size of the bids he declined.

Barkley thanked the network executives for reaching out to him and luring him away from TNT with amazing offers. The Hall of Famer chose to stick with the network, though, because he couldn’t abandon the Inside the NBA team.
Although the show can continue to cover the league for an additional year, its future after that is still unknown. The Suns icon did, however, reveal the potential new course that the program may take in 2025.
