Upon selecting Malik Nabers with the sixth overall choice, many supporters contended that the Giants ought to have selected a quarterback over a wide receiver. But since then, especially today, the feeling has shifted because of Aaron Rodgers‘ high regard for the youngster, giving Giants supporters hope that they may have a generational player on their hands.
The Giants-Jets joint training camp recently released some nice video of Rodgers and Nabers interacting. Following the session, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback informed the rookie that he had viewed Nabers’ highlight videos from his time at LSU before heading into the game, and A-Rod was in complete awe.
Rodgers said,
“I was watching film of you coming out, man,” “This boy and LSU, man…That was impressive, man.”

At this Nabers was pleasantly pleased and thanked the man humbly for the compliment. After that, A-Rod asked Nabers how his time as the Giants’ newest addition had gone thus far. Nabers said that he had been enjoying himself. “Working it out?” Before A-Rod and Nabers parted, Nabers responded in the affirmative to a question.

Though some thought it odd that Malik’s answers were so impersonal, his body language suggested that he was more than just star-struck. After all, Rodgers wasn’t the first well-known NFL player to give the rookie acclaim.
