The fact that Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes both love golf is a well-known facet of their friendship off the field. The American Century Championship is one of the Chiefs‘ favorite celebrity golf competitions, where the players are a regular fixture.
Mahomes, however, decided not to play in the event this year at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course because he wanted to improve and come back the following year with “vengeance.”
Mahomes jokingly hinted in an interview with SiriusXM that he would be avoiding Travis while competing at the next Championship:
“He gets me off my game. He is just a bad influence. Like by day three, I’m just like, ‘I can’t be with him for more than two days.’”
Mahomes may have poked fun at the two, but their bond still holds strong.
They were also seen celebrating Independence Day across the Atlantic Ocean by playing golf together in London earlier in July.
The topic of Mahomes’ golf practice routine came up next, and the hosts were curious to find out if having his own backyard golf setup gave him an unfair advantage.
