Klay Thompson to Return to Golden State Warriors in November as 2024/25 NBA Schedule Announced

Former fan favorite Klay Thompson is set for an emotional return to the Chase Center with his Dallas Mavericks pencilled in to face the Golden State Warriors on November 12th. The 34-year-old left the Bay Area to sign for the Mavs in July, ending his 13-year stint with the franchise, and many will be readying for his comeback.

The four-time NBA champion and five-time NBA All-Star was a popular figure during his time with the Warriors, with a decent chunk of his recent campaigns with Golden State seeing the Los Angeles-born star out with injury.

If you are a Dallas fan who feels that Klay Thompson could prove a very wise addition to Jason Kidd’s roster and you want to back the Mavericks to make a real impact in 2024/25, then why not make the most of this FanDuel promo code ahead of placing your wager?

Dallas came up short in the NBA Finals last time around, going down in five games to the Boston Celtics, and Kidd will hope that Thompson can help the Mavericks secure their first NBA championship since 2010/11.

Thompson will be keen to get back to his very best and recently looked to inspire a group of young players, discussing what it takes to be an NBA player,

“No matter how you shoot the ball that day, if you feel like crap, you need to get out there every day and keep giving it, brother, you’re going to make the most of this.”

“Fall in love with this, because it doesn’t last forever, guys. This goes by very quickly, and as you age in your career, you’ll notice that the teammates you started with… it’s hard to keep up.”

“There were moments last year where it was tough, where it wasn’t as joyful as it had been in the past,” Thompson admitted. “It’s nice to leave that behind and have a fresh start with a new group of guys and a new city. It’s really great. And I’m going to make the most of this opportunity.” Thompson added.

Thompson has joined Dallas on a three-year $50 million deal and will be raring to go, and no doubt a return to the Warriors in November is one that he will be looking forward to, as he will no doubt receive a hero’s welcome from his former fans.

Golden State brought Thompson in during the 2011 NBA draft, selected him 11th overall, and he won the first of his four NBA titles in 2015 before playing a key role in back-to-back successes in 2017 and 2018. He spent a lot of time out in 2021/22 though he won another championship ring that season.

Those ACL and Achilles injuries may well catch up with Thompson in the long run, but he will hope to be a key member of Jason Kidd’s set-up for the upcoming campaign and is certainly one of the best talents out there, when fully fit.

Last season, the Mavericks completed the regular season with a 50-32 record before defeating the L.A. Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Minnesota Timberwolves on their way to the NBA Finals, where they lost the first three games before briefly rallying to win game four and then losing game five and the title to Boston.
