Molly Qerim, the anchor of ESPN, has abruptly left First Take. Christine Williamson took over as the 40-year-old anchor for Thursday’s episode of the sports debate program.
Qerim’s absence is a continuation of a pattern that ESPN’s morning flagship has been following for the past few weeks. She recently took a two-week break from the show, which airs on the network every weekday morning in a popular 10 am hour.

The show’s three stars are taking well-earned time off, therefore there have been multiple personnel and scheduling changes.
Lead analysts Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A. Smith are now on a long vacation.
How crucial is Molly Qerim to First Take ?
At the National Association of Black Journalists conference, Stephen A. will finally return to the show with a special appearance. Molly stated: “Admission is free, and exclusive to NABJ participants only,”
Only a few days have passed since fans pleaded on Smith to return and keep the show from “falling apart.”
Since July 2nd, he has only made three appearances on First Take. When Thursday’s episode aired from ESPN’s Seaport Studios in New York, Qerim seemed to already be in Chicago.
She posted a little video of herself indulging in a plate of sweet goodies from the New York Giants on Instagram.
