If general manager Jerry Jones doesn’t decide on Dak Prescott‘s future quickly, the Cowboys may be in for a significant shake-up. The standout quarterback is in the last year of his deal, so it makes sense, according to former NFL wide receiver Harry Douglas, that Prescott would start looking into alternative options.
While Jones is attempting to play hardball with Prescott, Douglas thinks that other clubs that are in need of a franchise quarterback and have extra cash may pick him up.
During his appearance on Get Up, Douglas stated: “All it takes is one team to give Dak Prescott everything that he’s asking for him to be gone. So Jerry can play that game if he wants to,”
Should Jerry Jones hurry up with Dak Prescott deal ?
Prescott is one of the best quarterbacks in the game right now with a career passing accuracy of 67% and a passer rating of 99. Therefore, any organization will have no trouble making him a generous offer and bringing him on board for a protracted project.

And the former wide receiver thinks the Cowboys might end themselves in a predicament like the Cleveland Browns in 2022 if Jones allows that to happen. Despite Deshaun Watson’s problematic past, the Browns signed him quickly to a record $230 million deal in an attempt to move on from Baker Mayfield. And everyone is aware of the outcome.
.@hdouglas83 didn’t hold back on Jerry Jones 😯

Furthermore, Douglas emphasized that Jones’ best course of action is to stick with Prescott, as seen by backup quarterback Trey Lance’s blunder against the Chargers in the preseason game. Lance was given a chance by the Cowboys in the preseason, but he did not do well.
It’s obvious that the Cowboys will need to fill a quarterback-sized void come next season. This opinion is shared even by CeeDee Lamb, who expects that reforms will occur sooner rather than later.
