US Rapper Travis Scott is still “sobering up” in his cell after being arrested in Paris for allegedly getting into a fight with his bodyguard while intoxicated, according to police.
French police have not yet questioned Scott, 33, regarding his involvement in the wild 5 a.m. hotel altercation, despite reports that the Utopia musician was intoxicated during the Olympics in Paris.
The celebrity, whose full name is Jacques Bermon Webster, energized the audience on Thursday by sitting courtside during the US vs. Serbia basketball match in the Olympic semifinals. In video recorded inside the Bercy Arena, Scott was seen screaming and shouting with friend Quavo as they watched the United States advance to the championship game.
In the viral celebrations, he can be seen leaping on his seat and even raising his shirt. Following his return to his opulent hotel in Paris, there were also reports of Scott fighting with his personal security.
When the fight broke out inside the George V hotel close to the Champs-Élysées, the rapper was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
Travis Scott and his trouble with law lately
Shortly after Scott was taken into custody, police were contacted, a police source told Valeurs Actuelles. Hours after his detention, the rapper was still experiencing the aftereffects of his drink, according to an investigative source.
They declared: “He was not in the right condition to be questioned straight away, so was put in a cell where he is still sobering up.”
The rapper has had run-ins with the cops on multiple occasions in recent years. This year, The U.S. Sun exclusively got wild footage of him being taken away while he screamed in shock. It came after his June arrest for trespassing and disorderly intoxication.
He was “walking backward and yelling obscenities” while wearing handcuffs, according to a police report. He also seemed “erratic” and “yelling.” Scott uploaded his own bleary-eyed mug shot online with the phrase “lol” following his arrest, making fun of it.
A few days later, he unveiled a T-shirt with his mugshot. It is said that Travis will return to court on September 10.
