Alijah, Son of Gilbert Arenas, Praised by Kevin Garnett

Kevin Garnett frequently appears in the media discussing the situation of basketball today. The Boston Celtics icon isn’t afraid to demonstrate his affection for some of the league’s younger players. KG generally uses his podcast to hype up up-and-coming talent, but this time Garnett gave Gilbert Arenas’ son Alijah high praise on Instagram.

SwishCultures posted a video of Alijah working out with NBA players. The former NBA player’s youngster isn’t practicing drills or honing his shooting form. No, Arenas’ youngster is holding his own while engaging in one-on-one combat.

The initial caption for the post read: “Alijah Arenas ( @alijah0arenas ) is a special talent and he’s only a junior in high school he was cooking up in @dashletics 1s and has elite scoring tools.”

In the video, Alijah is shown competing against players like Kevin Durant, Naz Reid, and Moses Moody. KG was amazed by the new Arenas family baller’s talent level, even though the other players weren’t giving it their best. Garnett made the decision to post the footage to his own Instagram page. “Young Gil out here,” is how he captioned the video on his Instagram Stories.

There are advantages to being the son of a former NBA player. For example, exercising with the top trainers and NBA players, among others. But Alijah doesn’t appear to feel the need for fanfare. He is slightly taller than his father and is listed as 6’4″.

Alijah is more of a shooting guard archetype than Gil is, preferring to play the point guard position.
