When Charles Barkley spoke on Fox Sports 910 Phoenix, he expressed his adoration for Shaquille O’Neal. Even though they were NBA rivals for eight years, the two were always respectful of one another. When they shared the Team USA locker room at the Summer Olympics in 1996, their connection grew even closer.
The 61-year-old acknowledged that he liked making fun of “The Diesel,” even though he thought Shaq was a sensitive person. He said :
“He is a good dude. He is a little sensitive but I love riding him.”
Shaq and Chuck became brothers after Shaq appeared on TNT’s Inside the NBA in 2011. Ever since, they have been teasing each other and competing with each other nonstop. Barkley got under Shaq’s skin during the 2019 playoffs by constantly cutting him off on the air.
O’Neal was so irritated by this that he almost flung a can at Chuck. Barkley didn’t stop there, either. After the event, he gave Shaq the moniker “Mr. Sensitive.” The Diesel was again touched by this. He grew so angry that for a day and a half, he turned off and stopped paying attention to the panel. Later, Chuck discussed this incident in The Steam Room podcast, saying: “One of the great stories in Inside history. Shaq was so mad he didn’t speak to us the rest of the night or the next day and he was really mad.”
Barkley has made Shaq laugh a lot, and here is just one instance in which he has done so. After all, at his most recent appearance, Chuck was back at it.
