In a bold move ahead of the upcoming game on Saturday, Colorado State’s Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi has thrown some serious shade at Deion Sanders and his Colorado team.
Fowler-Nicolosi is confident in his team’s abilities and isn’t afraid to make it known. With tensions high and stakes even higher, this matchup is sure to be one for the books. We can’t wait for the showdown on the field as these two teams battle it out for supremacy.
Fowler-Nicolosi confidently stated, “We’ll see how far Instagram followers gets them.” This bold statement suggests that he believes success on social media doesn’t necessarily translate to success on the field.
The CSU passer shaded the Buffs alongside wide receiver Tory Horton. He says the game is played on the football field, not on social media.
“They came out with an attitude,” he said of last year’s double overtime meeting. “They thought it was going to be a cakewalk… They got a rude, rude awakening real quick. I think it goes to show the hype, the media train, it only gets you so far. At the end of the day, you have to line up 11 guys against our 11 guys, and we’ll find out who wants it more.
Colorado won last year’s meeting, though a pair of extra sessions were needed to decide the outcome.
After jumping out to a 28-17 lead across three-plus quarters of action, the Rams allowed the Buffs to even things up in the final minute of play. After trading touchdowns in the first overtime session, Colorado would score in the second OT to leave with a 43-35 win.
Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi threw three interceptions in that meeting, one of which was returned for a score by Shilo Sanders.
Fowler-Nicolosi appears ready to let their performance speak for itself and prove that hard work and talent are more important than online popularity. Seeing how this rivalry unfolds on the field will certainly be interesting.
