Jayson Tatum’s Anger Is Puzzling to One NBA Analyst

It appears that Jayson Tatum is gearing up for a brutal 2024–2025 campaign. The Celtics star’s storyline is to silence his doubters following a dismal Olympic performance. But according to Frank Isola, Tatum doesn’t need to be carrying a grudge. The celebrity would be better served by thinking back on the lessons learned over the previous few months.

Tatum’s outlook for the 2024–2025 season was discussed by Isola on SiriusXM NBA Radio. JT didn’t have too much to worry about, according to the sportswriter. A gold medal, in Isola’s opinion, helped him in the “grand scheme of things,” despite the fact that the 26-year-old may appear ashamed of his lack of participation.

The analyst said : “He’s accomplished a lot already. I think he looks at it this way. I really think that he feels like he has to kind of play this role up a little bit, that he’s somehow incredibly disappointed. Okay, he did not play in two games. I get kind of the, ‘embarrassment’ would be the right word? But in the grand scheme of things, he was on an Olympic team that won the gold medal,”

Frank Isola on Jayson Tatum’s struggles

In addition to discussing Tatum’s second Olympic gold medal, the commentator highlighted a few other accomplishments the five-time All-Star made during the previous several months, including an NBA title, the biggest contract in NBA history, and a cover appearance on NBA 2K25. Isola said : “He’s coming off a championship. Forget being on the cover of NBA 2K. Did you see the contract he signed? Life is good for Jayson Tatum. He won a championship in June, a gold medal in August. And in between that, he signed a gigantic contract,”

Even though he had a five-month stretch that most athletes would love for, Tatum seems to be thinking like the underdog. Based on his behavior throughout the media day and training camp, it appears that the four-time All-NBA star still has work to do to disprove his naysayers.
