Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected prison release date has shifted again, and this time it moved in his favor.
The 56-year-old music mogul is now scheduled to be released Feb. 6, 2028, instead of March 2, 2028, the Daily Mail reported Monday, citing TMZ. TMZ said the new date came from the federal Bureau of Prisons, and Page Six said it confirmed the change.
The move shaves 25 days off his projected stay. Previous projected release dates included Jan. 21, Feb. 5 and Feb. 20, 2028, according to TMZ. It was not clear why the date changed. AllHipHop noted the Bureau of Prisons’ inmate locator warns that listed release dates are subject to recalculation for pending time credits.
The update follows Combs’ transfer from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low, a low-security facility in Pennsylvania, The Associated Press reported. The AP said the move came after reports that Combs was living the high life at Fort Dix and was injured in a fight there.
An NBC News report alleged Combs received “VIP” treatment at Fort Dix, with inmates cooking his meals, doing his chores and giving him massages, TMZ reported. The Bureau of Prisons told the Daily Mail a reported fight between Combs and another inmate “is false and did not happen.”
Jose Rojas, a union secretary for federal prison employees, has said Combs is now in general population at Allenwood, according to TMZ, as cited by the Daily Mail.
“If this information is accurate, we’re pleased to hear that Sean has returned to general population,” Combs’ spokesman Juda Engelmayer told the Daily Mail. He added that Combs’ “safety and well-being are always important to us, but we have no specific reason to believe he is at risk.”
A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson, Randilee Giamusso, told the Daily Mail the agency does not comment “on the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including housing assignments.”
Combs was convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act and acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges. A judge sentenced him to 50 months in federal prison, TMZ reported.
Engelmayer previously told the Daily Mail that Combs “continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court’s decision on his appeal.”
Combs’ release date could still change before 2028.
