In the sports world, the controversy surrounding Super Bowl LIX is still a hot topic of discussion. Regarding the Kendrick Lamar-Lil Wayne scenario, many people have voiced their opinions. Additionally, Jeff Teague offered his fairly unusual perspective.
‘Club 520 Podcast,’ he said Teague stated that the reason he doesn’t want Lil Wayne to play during the Super Bowl halftime show is that the seasoned rapper wouldn’t play the songs he like. The 36-year-old thinks Wayne will probably appeal to a wider audience. According to Jeff:
“I don’t think I really want to see Lil Wayne at the Super Bowl. Cause I just know he’s not going to play the sh*t that we like. He’s going to play sh*t that the masses know,”
According to the 2021 NBA Champion, Wayne would only play his hits if he were to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. Everyone at Club 520 seemed to be in favor of a KDot performance. They think Kendrick is the more talented performer between the two. The team went so far as to say that Wayne had no right to voice his displeasure in public.
But not everyone who has supported Wayne’s decision to skip the Super Bowl has raised the same issues as Teague. When it comes to his career, Wayne is in a different phase than Kendrick Lamar. Being the biggest artist of 2024, the rapper from Compton is coming off of his most successful year to date.
Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans, where the Super Bowl was being held, was a major factor in the dispute.
