Brady so started by stating he likes to delve further into what makes a quarterback in response to Colin Cowherd’s question about how he would assess a rookie quarterback that a mere mortal like us could overlook.
Yes, he is aware of the technical components, such as a quarterback’s throwing accuracy, foot speed, and ability to make plays on the run. For Brady, though, a quarterback’s genuine ability is determined by what goes on higher up in the brain. Tom Brady said,
“For me, I think the sustainable part about quarterbacking is really what’s up here—what’s in the brain,” “Are you snapping the ball and running good plays consistently against the defenses that you’re out there watching?”
Brady also thinks that a coach’s interactions with his quarterback may tell you a lot about the quarterback. Allowing the quarterback to make decisions on his own may be a sign of a growing trust between the coach and player.
