“Transformers One” is an upcoming animated film that serves as a prequel to the Transformers franchise. Scheduled for release in the U.S. on September 20, 2024, it explores the origins of Optimus Prime (Orion Pax) and Megatron (D-16), tracing their friendship before the rivalry that sparks the iconic war between Autobots and Decepticons.
The movie is set entirely on Cybertron and delves into the planet’s societal struggles, featuring a divide between the elite, who possess transformation abilities, and the oppressed worker bots, a key backdrop to Megatron’s rise to power. This conflict lays the foundation for the creation of the Autobots and Decepticons.
Chris Hemsworth voices a young Optimus Prime (Orion Pax), while Brian Tyree Henry portrays Megatron (D-16). Other stars include Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1, Keegan-Michael Key as a young Bumblebee (B-127), and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion.
Directed by Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4), the film offers a fresh perspective on the Transformers universe while maintaining nostalgic ties to the original 1980s character designs.
This original toy story is a combination of stop-motion and live-action created by Paramount Pictures, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, and Framework Studio.
The ultimate game of football features the stars of Transformers One – Chris Hemsworth, Keegan-Michael Key, Brian Tyree Henry, and Scarlett Johansson – going helmet to helmet with grid iron greats – Brock Purdy, Deebo Samuel and “Megatron” himself, Calvin Johnson – in this epic battle.
