Tyreek Hill Claims He Wasn’t Sure Why the Cops Handcuffed Him

Just hours before the Miami Dolphins’ season opener, Tyreek Hill‘s Sunday morning took an unexpected turn. After getting pulled over for speeding and irresponsible driving, the team’s standout receiver was left face-down and handcuffed on the street outside the stadium, which was an unexpected sight for him.

Hill was clearly frightened and puzzled by the occurrence; after retiring from football, he wants to become a police officer. Speaking out loudly about his arrest by law enforcement, he stated: “I had no idea why police placed me in handcuffs,”

Hill said in a press conference that he remained calm during the whole thing: “I wasn’t disrespectful because my mom didn’t raise me that way. Didn’t cuss. Didn’t do none of that. Like I said, I’m still trying to figure it out, man.”

Even while Hill was hesitant to bring up race, he couldn’t help but ask himself, “What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill?”

He went on to say that despite constantly listening to the police and keeping silent, as advised by his uncle, he was still physically assaulted. Hill also saw the irony of being abruptly arrested while concentrating on his game plan and “thinking about going for 150 yards.”

Even though the issue was ultimately resolved, enabling Hill to play with his teammates, the incident left him shaken and in need of clarification. Hill acknowledged the unpleasant beginning to the game day and thanked his teammates for their support.
