Though Cam Newton hasn’t practiced for an NFL game in the last three years, there are still speculations circulating about his potential return. The former quarterback initially raised a comeback rumor when it was reported by NFL Rumors on X that he was seen at the Dolphins’ training facility. The host then questioned the quarterback on the Black Coffee with John Brown program about whether, as some rumors had indicated, he had recently visited the Panthers.
Even worse, Brown claimed to have confirmation from Adam Schefter that Cam was visiting his old team’s training facility, possibly in search of a job. However, the free agency quarterback for the NFL quickly refuted all of the rumors. He uttered: “They reporting anything,”
Cam said that a few people close to him, including his father, had lately told him about the rumors of a potential return. However, the rumors, it turns out, are just that—rumors. Miami hasn’t asked the quarterback to try again, and neither has Carolina.
Newton is creating sports-related content in the meantime, as he has been doing for the past few years. He joked, “I’ve been here in the Atlanta studio trying to push out content.”
He went on to say: “Nobody from the Panthers have showed any type of interest. Nobody from the Miami Dolphins have showed any type of interest. Nobody from the Minnesota Vikings have showed any type of interest. And at this particular point, I’m just sitting back, drinking my black coffee.”
It appears that NFL teams aren’t showing any interest in Cam. However, that is not the whole story.
