For the first time since the historic deal that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks, Anthony Edwards and Towns squared off. The two gave each other several embraces throughout tonight’s preseason game, as was to be expected. However, one exchange caught our attention.
After his team lost 110-115, Ant ran into his old friend at the scorer’s table. The child also had a notable conversation with a New York fan during this meet-up. By requesting that Edwards join the Knicks, the fan threw a hail mary from the stands.
In response, the 6’4″ guard stated that he would be thrilled to play with KAT once more: “I’d definitely love to be reunited.”

It seems sense that the New York fan base is thrilled with Ant-Man’s answer. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that the 23-year-old would make a move very soon. Edwards recently agreed to a five-year maximum contract with the T-Wolves last year. In addition, Minnesota cannot trade a player of his caliber because he is the team’s focal point. To accommodate Edwards’ payroll, the Knicks would also need to make significant roster adjustments.
In addition, Anthony Edwards has frequently stated how much he loves the Timberwolves and has pledged to bring the city its first NBA championship. However, given the strong bond between Edwards and Towns, it is impossible to rule out the possibility of the two playing together in the future.
