After a close loss to the boisterous Lamar Jackson’s Ravens in Week 5, the Cincinnati Bengals are back on track. Even while the Bengals’ route to victory wasn’t as straightforward as they would have preferred, they still won.
However, Bengals supporters nearly suffered a heart attack when their favorite quarterback, Joe Burrow, received a huge blow to the head during the last quarter of the Giants game. On a pivotal third down, Burrow was trying to make a throw when Joe Cool was shoved to the ground by Giants Edge Rusher Brian Burns.
Joe Burrow’s description of the physicality
The quarterback was transported for a concussion evaluation after his head ricocheted off the turf. Fortunately, Burrow appeared in excellent health and reported feeling that way during the news conference held after the game: “They just came in and told me that they need to evaluate me for concussion. I felt fine, just had the wind knocked out of me a little bit.”
In addition, Burrow began thinking back on Chase Brown’s touchdown when he was questioned about “the rushing touchdown”. Burrow asserted: “That’s been one of our go-to runs all year. Chase hit it quick as he always does. It was good to see,”
Burrow, being the leader he is, forgot about his own TD. The reporter quickly reminded the quarterback, though, that he was genuinely curious about his own historic 47-yard rushing touchdown. The quarterback’s response to this was: “Oh mine, I forgot about that, I just saw an opening and was able to squeak through there and find the end zone.”
It will be some time before anyone else can even start to forget about the quarterback’s incredible touchdown run, even though he may have completely forgotten it. Joe Burrow chose to run the ball to his right on a crucial 3rd-and-12 from the Giants’ 47-yard line. To everyone’s surprise, no Giants defenders were visible.
He had the longest run of his career when he ran for an incredible 47-yard touchdown, giving Cincinnati a 7-0 lead early on. Their much-needed victory, which improved their season record to 2-4, was made possible by the touchdown.
