Jayden Daniels outguns Caleb Williams in a stunning final play to steal the win from defeat’s jaws. Fans in D.C. witnessed one of the season’s most thrilling finishes in a game that was dominated by fierce defenses. Both Bears star Caleb Williams and Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who are highly regarded for their skill and ability to create plays, played chess in a contest that ended with a low score after three quarters.
However, both quarterbacks kept their best for last on a night when there weren’t many big plays. The Bears took charge in the closing minutes with a thrilling 10-play, 62-yard drive that ended with a score that put them ahead 15–12 with seconds remaining. Williams appeared to have sealed a thrilling road victory as the Bears’ sideline exploded. Jayden Daniels, however, wasn’t finished yet.
Everyone was watching Daniels as he took the field for the Commanders’ last possession. Despite the fact that fans realized time was running out, Daniels remained calm. He prolonged the clock, ducked out of pocket pressure, and sailed a 52-yard Hail Mary to the end zone in what appeared to be a miracle play. The crowd erupted in shock as receiver Noah Brown leaped over opponents and brought down the ball to secure an 18–15 surprise.

Williams had been successfully silenced earlier by the Commanders’ defense. The quarterback for the Bears struggled to establish any rhythm against an unrelenting pass pressure, completing just four of his first 16 throws. But a spectacular 56-yard touchdown run by D’Andre Swift gave the Bears new life, and by the conclusion of the third quarter, Chicago had finally struck gold.
