Stephen Curry Is ‘Locked-In’ Heading Into 16th NBA Season

The Golden State Warriors, who drove the introduction of the three-point era, just eclipsed their franchise record for 3s in a game. Stephen Curry felt rejuvenated after the Dubs defeated the Sacramento Kings, their state rivals, in the preseason with 28 long-range attempts.

Stephen Curry in action

Although his Warriors didn’t get past the play-in round the previous season, Curry recently won an Olympic gold medal. However, as Steph revealed, he isn’t sweating the hectic summer. He said:

I feel great,”. “It was nice to spend six weeks with those guys, represent Team USA, get Gold,” “Going into Year 16, lot of miles but still feel like I got a lot left in the tank.”

Curry said he felt “refreshed and rejuvenated” after scoring 13 points in 16 minutes against Sacramento, even though he had a shorter rest this off-season. He also said: “I love playing man,”  “Once you get through that [pre-season] and you lay the groundwork, the season is fun. Like, you know, competing with my guys, trying to chase, you know, another championship.”

The Kings defeated the Warriors in the play-in tournament only six months ago. Their strong performance versus Sacramento must be a pleasant start to their campaign, even though it is only preseason.

Tonight, the Dubs hit a scorching 53.8% from beyond the arc. Buddy Hield was playing brilliantly off the bench, scoring 22 points with 6-7 long-range and 8-9 field goals. Jonathan Kuminga and DeAnthony Melton both made four three-pointers.

Curry was ecstatic with the camaraderie and efficiency. In the post-game, he reflected:  “You know that the ball is going to stop bouncing at some point. And for me, I love this environment, I love being out there on the floor…Like you know you’re going to have just so much fun trying to figure out what this team needs to do to be successful. So, locked in on that mission for sure,

The Dubs are looking to Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski to take the squad to the next level after Klay Thompson left.
