According to Reports, ESPN Won’t Sanction Jason Kelce for the Incident Involving the Phone Shattering

Although Jason Kelce‘s phone-smashing event on Saturday is still under police investigation, ESPN is apparently not going to penalize him. In a widely shared video from Penn State, an ESPN analyst was seen snatching a fan’s phone and slamming it to the ground. Travis, Kelce’s brother, was the target of a homophobic remark from the fan.

Jason was trolled by Travis for his tight fitting shirt

On Monday’s broadcast, the former NFL player, who is currently a podcaster and analyst for Monday Night Countdown, expressed regret for the event, stating, “I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have.”

In the sports community, opinions on Kelce’s action have been divided; some have condemned it, while others have blamed the fan for his trolling remark. ESPN’s choice might have been impacted by the widespread popular support for Kelce.

However, the incident’s legal component remains. Penn State University Police and Public Safety is conducting an investigation, according to a Tuesday article in The Athletic.

According to a police report, the incident was witnessed by an officer and was recorded as “criminal mischief and disorderly conduct” in the PSU crime log. The upcoming New Heights podcast, which airs on Wednesday, is anticipated to feature Kelce discussing the event.
