Two men named Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza are in some serious trouble. They have been charged with attempted murder for the strip club shooting of NFL player Josh Reynolds. Can you believe it? These guys messed up.
I can only imagine how scary and traumatizing this experience must have been for Josh. I mean, imagine being targeted like that just because you play a sport or some other reason. It’s unacceptable!
As for Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza, they are facing some serious consequences now. Attempted murder charges are no joke.
Mendoza has been charged with 23 felonies including six counts of attempted first-degree murder, six counts of first-degree assault and three counts of drug possession.
Charlesworth, meanwhile, has 15 charged including six accounts of attempted first degree murder.
Reynolds had been at Shotgun Willie’s in Glendale, Colorado until nearly 3am that night with two male acquaintances.
Reynolds was hit in the back of the head and his arm, according to police, but the injuries were described as minor and nobody else was seriously hurt.
The Broncos said in a team statement at the time that Reynolds needed treatment for minor injuries.
As first revealed by 9NEWS, police received an emergency call near East Hampden Avenue and South Dahlia Street in Denver’s Southmoor Park neighborhood at around 3am on October 18.
The caller, who said he was driving a blue Ford Bronco, claimed to have been shot.
The 911 operator reported that the caller stopped responding at one point and sounded as if they were running.
Another 911 caller said he was being followed and a third claimed they, too, had been shot, according to 9NEWS.
Responding officers found three victims: Reynolds, a man who was shot in his back, and another man who was wounded by shattered glass.
I hope justice is served and they are held accountable for their actions. It’s important to remember that violence is never the answer, no matter what the circumstances.
