Mariah Carey’s “My All” Song Was Inspired By Her Fling With Derek Jeter While Still Married To Tommy Mottola

Although Mariah was still tied to a marriage with Mottola, her love affair with Jeter started toward the end of the singer’s rocky marriage.

In the Vulture interview, Mariah compared her home with her ex-husband to New York prison, Sing Sing.

She said her fling with Jeter helped her “get past living there, in Sing Sing, under those rules and regulations.”

Mariah went on to divorce Mottola in 1998.
