To be fair, opposing fans are becoming frustrated with the Kansas City Chiefs’ 14-game winning streak. Ultimately, who enjoys siding with David versus Goliath?
The contentious calls that favor the Chiefs are the worst aspect of their winning streak for opposing fans. Nick Wright, a superfan and analyst, believes that anyone who criticizes the Chiefs’ winning streak is being a whiner. They believe that the team’s luck is unjust.
Wright asked all opposing supporters to “stop crying” about officiating calls that favored the Chiefs during his most recent appearance on “The Dan Le Batard Show.”
Nick Wright talks about Chiefs backlash
Nick had a straightforward response, regardless of whether it was the face mask pull incident or the referee’s failure to call a clear false start during the Chiefs‘ game-winning drive in overtime versus the Bucs. He maintained that Patrick Mahomes would have guaranteed the Chiefs’ victory in the end even if the officials had made the right decisions.
“The Chiefs have broken everyone’s brain that every post-game, it’s a Zapruder film of like, ‘hey, mid second quarter, they called a face mask instead of a hold and those five yards would have changed it. Oh they missed a false start.’ Okay, give them the false start. Then guess what happens? Mahomes beats you!… Everyone’s such crybabies.”
Wright then went on to make fun of rival fans by suggesting that even with players like Favre-Rodgers (who played for the Packers for 30 years) and Dan Marino (who played for the Dolphins for 20 years), their team couldn’t equal the history Mahomes has left for the Chiefs in just six years. He repeatedly urged them to “shut up” and implied that their accusations of “rigged games” were motivated by jealously.
