Dwyane Wade Talks About How Udonis Haslem Got Back His Stolen Escalade

On The OGs podcast, Dwyane Wade reconnected with former teammates Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem to reminisce experiences from their championship-winning days, just after his monument was unveiled outside Kaseya Center. Haslem and Wade became teammates in 2003, although Miller may have joined the Heat in 2010.

Haslem, who was not selected the year before, joined Wade in Miami in 2003 as a free agent after he was selected fifth overall. Together, the two would win three NBA titles and develop a bond that would last a lifetime. UD swiftly rose to the position of enforcer, guarding D-Wade, the star player for his squad. He took his duty very seriously, and not only on the court.

Dwyane Wade talks about Udonis Haslem recovering his escalade

Wade referred to him as the “easiest guy to believe in.

The MVP of the 2006 Finals then used a powerful illustration to support his argument. Wade disclosed:  “Somebody came and got my stuff from the crib, I ain’t know what to do… It was that Blue Escalade, my blue wheels, 26-inch wheels. I was rolling through Miami, man, and they got me,”

Wade was shocked to discover that his automobile was gone when he left his residence. Fortunately, though, he had one of the top enforcers in the league working for him. The three-time winner stated:  “First person I called, before I called the police, anybody, I called UD. ‘Hey man, they got me.’ I got my jewelry in there and everything…Man, UD got that sh*t back for me,”

Haslem was a vital part of the Heat organization for twenty years because of this trait. He was the epitome of the notorious Heat Culture and always looked out for his teammates.

Ironically, in this instance, Haslem’s efforts to recover his teammate’s stolen vehicle would be somewhat in vain because the Flash would soon sell the Escalade.
