So seven years ago, James Harden took Kobe Bryant‘s advice and invested $500K in Bodyarmor. And guess what? That investment is now worth a whopping $5.6 billion! That’s one wise investment.
I mean, talk about a smart move! Harden was already a baller on the court, but now he’s a financial genius too. Getting in on the ground floor with Bodyarmor was the play to make. And who better to give him that advice than the Black Mamba himself?
Harden on the “Earn Your Leisure” podcast revealed;
“Kobe was basically like, ‘Yeah, we’re gonna put a stash of, like, $5 million. Then any business opportunity, it might be a little $200,000, might be $500,000, just depending on what you know, what investment it is.”
“But we’re gonna put a pot together, we just gonna invest our money, rest in peace, before he passed away.”
“Bodyarmor was the beginning of that,” added Harden. “We see how it is now. We built the whole business up, and it took eight to 10 years, you know what I mean?”
“I put, like, 500 grand into Bodyarmor, and it got me a good amount of money back. I think Kobe, if I’m not mistaken, put, like, $8 million into it, all in.’
Either way, one thing’s for sure: James Harden knows how to make a killer investment. And I bet he’s grateful every single day that he listened to Kobe’s advice. So, here’s to their bromance and the incredible success of that $500K decision.
