Dwight Howard, a former NBA player, is beginning a new chapter in his life that will take place off the court. The 39-year-old basketball icon drove fans into a frenzy with emotional Instagram posts announcing his engagement to rapper and Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star Amy Luciani.

An emotional video of Howard ogling her diamond engagement ring in a club setting was used by Luciani to break the news.

Luciani captioned her photo as follows:  “I was enjoying you so much out of the public eye, but here we are,”

She added that Howard was essential in helping her rediscover her faith: “I prayed reallllll deep on a Thursday, not knowing 2 days later God would send me a Bible-totin’, tattooed giant with the same heart as me.”

An infinity sign, a crimson heart, and a lock and key are just a few of the affectionate emojis that Howard used in his comments to express their unshakable love.

The spotlight on Dwight Howard’s love story

Fans were thrilled by the couple’s glances into their relationship, as they had previously kept their courtship a secret. Photos and videos of the pair celebrating Howard’s birthday on December 8 and going to events like the Den of Thieves 2 movie screening in Atlanta, which Howard hosted, were posted on Luciani’s Instagram account.

In addition, Howard paid respect to him by sharing pictures of their night out along with the simple words “Happy,” along with hashtags like #BlackLove and #PrayedForThis.

The couple has been seen together at high-profile events, such as a Celsius energy drink event in Miami earlier this month, despite the fact that specifics on how they met are still confidential.
